Repointing

We offer both stone and brick repointing, and we’re careful to match the existing or original mortar. We regularly use both lime and cement mortar, and vary our sand, depending on the colour needed for the overall result.

Below is an example of our repointing on a heritage wall in West Northamptonshire. This was part of a massive renovation project, and we also fitted the stoves and repointed the internal courtyard and gable ends.

The customer was particularly keen to match the lime mortar, as the property holds a prominent place on a high street. We removed all the plant life and old mortar, and replaced any stones no longer fit for purpose (shaping them to fit). We also arranged for new coping stones to be cut by the quarryman, to replace ones too weather-damaged to be re-used.
